Overview

The advanced TRIO Datacom J Series Ethernet frequency hopping data radio sets the standard for industrial data communications in the license free 900MHz and 2.4GHz band. The J Series combines class leading performance with unprecedented flexibility and is designed for the most demanding requirements of Water, Power, Oil & Gas, and many other critical SCADA and Telemetry applications.

The highly versatile J Series data radio can be configured as an access point, remote, bridge or repeater, and there are no limits to the number of repeaters in Point-to-Multipoint and Point-to-Point systems. For maximum flexibility they feature two (2) RJ-45 Bridging IEEE Ethernet ports and a DB-9 RS‑232 serial Port.

Either Ethernet port can be used for diagnostics and re-programming. Network management includes all configuration via embedded HTML interface and diagnostics compatibility with Trio Datacom TVIEW+ for stand alone network management.
For data security, the J Series offers multiple user configurable layers including, HTML interface HTTP password protection and 256-bit AES encryption.*  

Maximum range is achieved with the combination of virtually unlimited system coverage due to its unique LinkXtend™ network bridging with dual antenna ports and KwikStream™ high speed repeater network bridging capabilities. Users of license-free wireless communications are no longer constrained by previously limited operating ranges.

With its compact and rugged alloy housing and -40ºC to +70ºC operational capability, the industrial grade J Series is designed for the harshest environments.

The J Series are compatible with all leading industry standard protocols such as MODBUS, DNP‑3, IEC870, DF1, etc.

The J Series shares the same Multistream™ data routing, Channelshare™ collision avoidance, and powerful network wide diagnostics as the Trio Datacom E Series licensed UHF data radio products, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated with E Series systems, as well as with the Trio Datacom TVIEW+ Network Management software.

The Trio Datacom J Series comprises of the following models: the JR900, which operates within the 915MHz license free frequency band (country specific models apply), and the JR240 that can be configured for use in the 2.4GHz license free bands available throughout the world.
